Home Visiting
This program is for people who are expecting a child, or are a
caregiver with a child from birth to six years of age. A home visitor
from the community will visit you in your home or wherever you feel most
comfortable and offer support related to child development, nutrition,
health and safety and problem solving. The home visitor will also link
you with other programs and services available in the community.
Parent-Child Mother Goose
This is a 10 week group experience for parents and
their babies and young children. It focuses on the pleasure and power
of using rhymes, songs and stories that will create memories. Call for

Nobody's Perfect
Parent's of children under the age of 6 meet once a week for 6
weeks to learn and provide support to each other. If you are interested
in building on what you already know and do, your interests and strengths,
your sources of support and your knowledge of resources in the community
this program is for you. Call for date, time and place. No fee. Childcare
paid.
Gathering Place - Parent Support Group
Graduates of Mother Goose, Nobody's Perfect and participants
in Ready-Set-Go!'s activities have a meeting on Friday's at Begley School
to share information on issues concerning parenting. Once a month a
guest speaker visits the group to talk about interesting parenting topics.
Community Voices
This is a night out for parents that offers the opportunity
to meet new friends, share ideas, learn new skills and help to develop
your neighbourhood.
This town hall type meeting offers a chance for community members
to share their ideas and ask the Ready-Set-Go! staff and board members
questions. Must call ahead and reserve childcare. Call for date, time
and place.
Toy and Resource Lending
This program is run out of the Ready-Set-Go! house and allows
parents and children to borrow toys, videos and books on a weekly
basis. A selection of Arabic children's books are available. The resource
library also has books, magazines and pamphlets on community resources
and child development information for parents.
Special Events for Families Workshops and Special Events
are offered throughout the year. Celebrating families and community
is an important part of supporting families and these special events
